GLCP Visting Scholars

2003: Dr. Adriana Green, a Visiting Assistant Professor of History at
Michigan State University for "Ojibwe and Odawa Quillwork on Birchbark." Dr. Green will collect oral and genealogical histories from contemporary Sagamok Anishnawbek quillworkers current residing near Massey, Ontario, and with ties to the Wikwemikong First Nation at Manitoulin Island. She will document the artist's work, identify the artistic lineages, and investigate the historical relationship between the Sagamok and Wikwemiking artistic tradition and those of the Cross Village, Harbor Springs, and Little Traverse Bay communities in Michigan. The fellowship provides to $2,000 for expenses toward her research.

2002: Mr. Howard Paige of Southfield, MI has been appointed as a Visiting Scholar in the Center for Great Lakes Culture to support his research on African American food traditions. He will be working with the internationally recognized cookbook collection of the Michigan State University Library.
